Cruelly, as the gorge echoed to the beat of two pannier tanks belting up the gradient, the weather got a lot worse and blew rain at everyones lenses. I waited till the last moment to grab this shot. Today a serious collision between two HSTs resulted in a derailment at Neville Hill depot. Cranes were called upon from around the network, 37425 being sent to Wigan. Here it is seen working 4Z99 from Wigan to Bescot at Penkridge. Upon arrival at Bescot it was to be joined by another crane from Margam

So, here it is, froth buckets at the ready! I can at least claim to have surely THE earliest shot of 70001 working under it's own power for the first time on the mainline. It is seen just departing Lawley Street with a DBS CLass 67 in the rear
